Religious in Singapore (3rd Edition)

The Religious diversity that we see in Singapore is our blessing and challenge. All of us have a part to play in fostering and maintaining religious harmony. The IRO, whose members are religious leaders and lay persons from the nine major religions in Singapore, actively encourages its members to read and learn about each other’s religions. We believe this will foster a more tolerant and respectful attitude towards the religious customs, beliefs and sensitivities of others.

Religious Customs & Practices In Singapore

This Guide to Religious Customs & Practices seeks to reflect the multi-religious dimension of our Singapore society. The essays describe the behaviour that we each need to observe in order to show respect for one another’s religions and for the beliefs they hold most sacred.

It grows and enhances our common space when we acknowledge our own distinctive place and we recognise and respect the religious sensitivities of others.
